RULES  FOR THE NATIONAL RALLIES OF THE MORRIS MINORS CAR CLUBS OF AUSTRALIA

 

1.         All Entrants must be a member of a Morris/ Minor Car Club

2.         All cars entered must be registered, be in roadworthy condition and be insured  (minimum third party property) at the time of the rally.

3.         Trophies per category to number of cars

·      3 cars      =      1st Trophy

·      3-6 cars      =      1st & 2nd Trophies

·      6-12 cars      =      1st, 2nd & 3rd Trophies

·      13 & over      =      1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Trophies

Any amendments or improvements can be made when necessary

4.        An entrant’s car can be awarded a trophy, with no minimum points required.

5.        A remark section is to be included at the  bottom of the Judging Sheets

6.        When a vehicle is entered in the wrong category, 10% per incorrect item, will be deducted from the total points.

7.        Registration papers can be requested for proof of registration.

8.        Any entrant found to have an unregistered vehicle or misleading or false documentation will be disqualified from attending this and any further rallies.

9.       Rally entry forms include two dates signatures by Club Delegates to verify both club membership and current vehicle classification

10.      Club plates cars be accepted for judging as long as the owner is a financial member of a Morris / Minor Club

11.      All records must be passed on to the next rally

12.     That all previous motions for the formation of a National Body be rescinded

13.      National Rally entry fee be set by Club/Clubs holding the Rally with the view of keeping it as low as possible

14.      Inline fuel systems and other modifications for unleaded fuel is accepted in Original, Restored and Maintained

15.      Judging sheets are not to be left in cars, once judged.  Judges are to take them in at the end of judging

16.      Changes to classes and or judging format can only happen with a vote at a Delegates Meeting

17.      Judges should not be allowed to judge a car which they have worked on professionally

18.       a)  Register of Delegates

            b)  2 votes per club

            c)  Pre Delegates meeting to be on Friday or Saturday

            d)  Meeting on Sunday to have a time limit

19.       a)  A Concourse Director should be appointed by the host club

            b)  A Right of Appeal

            c)  A panel of 3 to adjudicate appeals, panel not all from one club

            d)  All judging sheets to be returned in full

20.       a)  Host Club must have an audit of Rally Books done

            b)  Said Audit to be sent to all Clubs within 6 months

            c)  Excess monies to be sent onto the next Host Club within 6 months

21.       Issigonis Trophy - Points to be awarded to the cars entered for judging.  The aggregate points awarded to each club to be divided by the number of cars entered by that club, e.g. total 800 points with four cars entered 800 ÷ 4 = 200.

22.       Brake booster be allowed in maintain class.

23.      Delegates Meetings to be held on the Friday afternoon/evening at all future rallies.

24.     The structure of all future rallies be decided by the Host Club subject to the inclusion of a Show & Shine (Concourse) and a final dinner

 25.      That all vehicles entering the National Concourse area for judging must drive into and out of the concourse  area under their own power, unless those are not able to due to extenuating circumstances, which will be determined by the Host Club.

26.      Concourse vehicles must attend the Sunday Run, after the concourse, under their own power or else face a loss of 50% of their awarded concourse points unless there are extenuating circumstances, it is then up to the discretion of the Rally Director.

 

Recommendations:

 

  • National Rallies to be held in country areas

  • Any profit made from a National Rally to be passed on to the next National Rally Committee

  • All states take turns  to host a National Rally.  A presentation is to be given at the Delegates Meeting from the Clubs wishing to hold the proceeding Rally.  The decision then rests with the Delegates on who will host the next Rally. 

  • A time limit of 5 minutes per speaker, on any subject, is to be enforced.  Presentations excluded at the Delegates Meeting

  • A remarks section to be placed at the bottom of the Judging Sheet

  • Each club to provide one judge for every two cars entered

  • Judges to work in pairs from different clubs

  • Club Delegates to classify the Judge they provide

  • Add Display category for non judged cars

  • Show category for vehicles specifically built for concourse and that they be judged by suitably qualified people

  • Restored cars can stay in restored for 10 years

  • The host club is allowed to charge an administration fee to be set by the Host Club if it feels it is necessary

  • Concourse to be held preferably on the Saturday

  • Leave judging as per current system
